Go After What Lights You Up (Now!)

Something that I constantly ponder is the briefness of existence, the fleeting of time, the constant change that exists and evolves around us. The magnitude of this is too much for any human to comprehend, but how beautiful it is that we get to exist in this vibrant firestorm.

Of late, I’ve been making the effort to be more intentional with my time, to not get caught up in the cogs of life and the mechanics of modern society as it stands. To make sure that I am not a passenger to my own life but a seed of intentional navigation and growth.

The stepping back from work that does not serve, the diving into the simple activities that bring us a whisper of joy. The little timber work or artistic projects, the coffees with treasured friends and family, the freedom to think.

The stepping back has brought me a lot of thinking space, and from this thinking space, I’ve learned a few things:

1. The more I empty myself for others without the need for anything in return, the more free I feel
2. When I visualise those around my world, society and circle as my friends and supporters my anxiety dissipates
3. When I acknowledge the impermanence of life, I’m met with an urgency to go after the things that light up my heart.
