One Step At A Time
Life’s Inevitable Challenges
Life will not always be easy. In fact, life will bring many challenges, often catching us by surprise. These situations can feel overwhelming and make it seem as if there is no solution, like we can’t take the first step, and time continues to move.
When we find ourselves in these situations we can be constantly met with feelings of resignation and hopelessness, just waiting for the moment to pass by. The feelings can consequently place us in a state that makes us want to give up.

The Power of ‘One Step At A Time’
The concept of ‘One Step At A Time’ is a noble one. It is a pursuit that takes courage and a long-term view. Taking one step at a time means to take a simple action, often something that may appear to be stupendously easy, but committing to that action, consistently.
One Step At A Time is a pursuit that takes courage and a long-term view.

It can be likened to a person aiming to finish a marathon. A marathon is just a collection of single steps taken one after another, that eventually sum up to a monumental achievement.
Finding Your Small Steps Forward
When we find ourselves in times of turmoil, we must also realise that we are still capable of taking small steps to better our situation. This may be taking one mindful minute of reflection at the beginning of each day, or going for a walk around the block daily, to calm yourself when you feel angered or frustrated.
No matter what small step you take, the pursuit of the small step itself is an action that indicates you have the drive to grow through the challenging situation you are facing.
I leave you with a final question, What will be the first step you take in the pursuit of your next personal achievement. Let us know in the comments.
Always,
Adam, 2023

Quite liked this in relation to our perception of time and taking one step or day at time: https://youtu.be/HWzW-iK7p_w?si=EU4LWu9lUzdvdcwD
Everyday, my first step is to maintain sobriety. Then, with a sober mind I can confidently take each subsequent step.
Thank you for such an eloquently worded post. 🙂
Thank you for visiting my blog! And this post was so timely. Funny enough I’ve had a post it note on my desk that says “one step at a time” so this was such a perfect reminder. Most days I’m not sure where to start, but I think I’m going to take that walk 🙂
My pleasure AJ! I am glad to hear this connected with you, it’s funny how things can all join up at certain points in time! I hope the walk has been going!!
This is helpful. My next step is committing to take a walk around the block every day, especially, when I am angry or frustrated. Shalom.
Thanks for reading. Glad this resonated with you! I hope you can continue to build on this first step. Wishing you all the best!

I have ‘One Step At A Time’ tattooed on my forearm as a reminder 💜
That is great! 🙂 Definitely a great reminder! Thanks for reading !!
Great, enlightened post! I think in our fast-paced, self-centered society, we often get so caught up in the hustle that we forget to find beauty in the in-between. Progress is not made without first taking that first step. It’s a lot less overwhelming one step at a time.
Ps thanks for the support on my first blog post!
